Granada
A few weeks ago I went on a short afternoon trip to Granada with my friends Malthe & Irene and I was blown away by the beauty of this mountain city.
We had rented a car for a couple of days while staying in Malaga, Spain and the day before we had gone for a trip to Gibraltar, which was beautiful, but also very tiring as we hiked all the way to the top of the rock for sunset. Nevertheless, we had taken it slow all day and Malthe wasn't feeling too well, but we decided to go for it anyway and drove off towards Granada at around 15 o'clock. It was a two a hour drive so we'd only have a little over an hour till sunset.
As we approached the city in the distance we were greeted with a stunning view of the landscape and mountains behind it. I had no expectations going in, as I had only seen about one picture of Granada before and had never really heard anything about it. To put it mildly, I was blown away. I was genuinely suprised by how beautiful this city was, it was like a mixture of the best aspects of Paris & Barcelona, just stunning. The architecture and the vibrancy of the buildings, palm trees everywhere, windy little streets up the mountain, I loved it. We arrived just in time for golden hour, so the light was just gorgeous, which definitely didn't do anything to make the city look any worse. We wandered around the city for a couple of hours, going for the classic sights of the Alhambra and of the city below.
It was a short but sweet experience, definitely a place I want to come back to and explore more.
Nos vemos Granada!
